There is one woman who has taught me the most about cooking and baking and that is my mom. Her kitchens were the “go to” spot that everyone just wanted to come and hang out in. Her homes have always been designed with the kitchen as the center of it all. I still to this day refuse to write down many recipes just so I have to call her and she can walk me through how to make whatever it is. It is from her that I learned how to be creative in the kitchen and not just follow recipes.
While I love to share my recipes with you, I have to admit my best ones come from my mom. So, I decided to go directly to the source and cut out the middleman…

We have asked her to share her culinary expertise with you, because a Life Done Well includes recipes done well to share your love with friends and family. Kicking off her first official recipe is her Mashed Potato Bread. When I asked her why this recipe first, she said, “ I made mashed potatoes and we had leftovers. They were so good I had to make bread.” That’s my mom…

I am a home cook that does things my way. In my kitchen, I make breakfast, pack lunches, prepare snacks, and cook dinner. During the week, we eat real food that is homemade, organic, and local. On the weekends we do explore more of our local restaurants. I bake my own bread, juice fresh oranges every other day, and make my own kombucha and other weekly favorites.
