When a friend suggested I check out ShiftCon, I fell in love. I am so happy to be part of the family. ShiftCon is a eco-wellness conference that focuses on food, wellness, and sustainability; all of which are a priority to me.
I love that ShiftCon connects me with great brands they feel will be important to my life. Many of brands are ones that I have heard of and maybe never tried. Some are ones I know and love. While there are others I never knew about. Many of this weeks Fabulous Finds arrived in my mailbox when I was away traveling. I was so excited to get home and try them. You will also find my newest cookbook that arrived this week.
So, I must say while I was provided with ShiftCon Brands products for review, I was not compensated for writing this post and as always, all opinions are my own.
Ridgecrest Herbals
Not only did I arrive home to some wonderful goodies from ShiftCon Brands, but also to a sick husband. When I left three weeks prior he had a sinus infection and when I got home he had an awful cold. A full on “man-cold” you know. The kind that any woman would take some supplements and move on with. All the moaning, all the neediness, and all the “I think this is going to kill me” cold.
So when the Ridgecrest Herbals Clear Lungs Immune was here I was so happy. All the herbs and ingredients he needed without all the chemicals he doesn’t. Each ingredient has a purpose and his body needed them all. Gardenia Fruit for nasal relief, Zhejiang Fritillary bulb to help reduce mucus, and so much more. Here is to RidgeCrest and a short “man-cold”.
Mountain Rose Herbs
My kitchen is my happy place. So when I opened my package from Mountain Rose, I was thrilled to see bottles of spices I would be able to use over and over again. I received Kiawe Smoked Sea Salt that we used the next morning on our breakfast. I sautéed some veggies, grated on some turmeric and ginger, and added the salt to finish. The flavor was incredible and offered so much to our breakfast. You could really taste the smoked flavor.
I then used the Mediterranean Seasoning on our brussel sprouts that night. I simply tossed them with olive oil and the seasoning and roasted them. We sat and ate them like pop-corn. We also received the garlic pepper and I am excited to try it! In fact, I am looking forward to trying these all out on the grill soon.
Earth Mama Organics
I have read and read about Earth Mama Organics, but I had yet to try any of the products. I have tried so many deodorants over the years in search of the perfect one. I was still on the search when this little package came along.
I have only had the chance to try two of them so far and love the scents and how they feel and work. There is truly nothing in this that you don’t want. You put it on and it goes right into your skin. I even tried shaving then putting it right on and no burning. I also love the little sizes for all my travels. So far I have tried the GingerAid and Calming Lavender and enjoyed them both. You can purchase yours here.
Cybele’s
We have all been reading about Superfoods lately. But now, there is a pasta that is full of Superfoods, tastes so good, and is really pretty to serve. What I love most about the Cybele’s Veggie Pastas is that by cooking up a batch and adding what you want, you have a balanced meal. The pastas are full of protein, iron, potassium, and fiber and free of all we don’t want to eat too much of.
We cooked up the green lentil, kale, broccoli, and spinach pasta and I added blanched veggies and a simple olive oil and champagne vinegar dressing. Yum! I highly suggest using Cyblele’s Free to Eat pastas also when entertaining. It meets so many dietary needs including gluten free and eight of the top allergens.
Cookbook of the Week
Green Kitchen at Home
A couple of weeks ago my daughter sent me a picture of the cover of this cookbook with the note, “This cookbook sounds great”. What that means in daughter language is “Hey mom, you should buy this cook book and buy one for me too”. Since I can translate daughter language, I went right onto Amazon and ordered it. I am so happy I did. When I first opened the book it opened to my favorite type of recipe – a No Recipe Coconut Curry.
It only got better from there. As you know, I am a cookbook reader from front to back and then reference it when needed. Green Kitchen at Home is much like a travel journal from David Frankiel and Luise Vindahl and their family, with recipes inspired by their travels. All of the recipes are vegetarian and we look forward to making many more dishes from them. We will be ordering their other books as well to share with you.
What fabulous finds did you discover this week?
I am a home cook that does things my way. In my kitchen, I make breakfast, pack lunches, prepare snacks, and cook dinner. During the week, we eat real food that is homemade, organic, and local. On the weekends we do explore more of our local restaurants. I bake my own bread, juice fresh oranges every other day, and make my own kombucha and other weekly favorites.
