PLACES TO EAT
- Frasca Food and Wine – Always top notch, but a bit more formal. Inspired by Friuli, Italy, the menu changes seasonally and champions local farms. They are a member of the Slow Food Organization.
- Oak At Fourteenth – They serve local and seasonal new American cuisine, focused around wood fire cookery. Open for lunch and dinner.
- The Kitchen – Apparently, if you can’t eat on the farm this is the next best thing. Walk-ins except for larger groups and a few community tables.
- Cafe Aion – A bit more casual, but very nice. Serves Spanish taps for lunch and dinner. They even have live music.
- Pizzeria Locale – Casual atmosphere and yummy pizza, inspired by Naples, Italy. Need we say more.
- Flagstaff House – Location, location, location….If you have never been to Boulder, this is a must do. The restaurant is on Flagstaff Mountain and overlooks downtown Boulder – sunset views anyone? The food is notable too, serving French cuisine with Asian accents.
- Mateo – They serve a seasonal menu with organic fare from local farmers. It’s dishes are inspired by Provence and they serve wine from small batch wineries in France and Italy. Open only for dinner.
- Jill’s – Located in the St. Julien Hotel, the this modern restaurant and bistro serves American cuisine with French accents, using sustainable, organic farmers.
- Zeal Food – We fell in love with Zeal for it’s clean, organic seasonal food and juices, all in a casual atmosphere. There is something for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Oh, and they have an amazing cocktail menu and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Salt – A farm to table restaurant open for lunch and dinner. They use local & seasonal fruits and vegetables with menus that reflect these ingredients.
- L’Atelier – If you have a more adventurous palette, this is the place for you. The quality of food and wine is top notch.
- Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar – Amazing sustainable seafood. Consistently voted one of the best of Boulder restaurants. I think that pretty much says it all….
- The Cup – We were told it’s the best coffee and lattes in Boulder and you just may spot a pro triathlete getting that caffeine boost. To boot, they also serve breakfast and lunch.
- Rio Grande – If you have a craving for Mexican food and margaritas, this should satisfy. Open for lunch and dinner.
- West End Tavern – BBQ, burgers, beer, and bourbon…..Oh, did we mention they have a rooftop lounge with a view of the mountains? Tough combination to beat.
- There are also lots of pubs and breweries in the area, such as Avery Brewing Company , that offer tours and serve food, so be sure to check them out.
