We are very fortunate to have Lindsay back as our guest blogger. This time she has found a new breakfast powerhouse that she is in love with and wants to share with the world!
As a triathlete, I pay very specific attention to my diet and nutritional needs. I have seen nutritionists and have become an unofficial “researching professional” on everything endurance and diet related. Anything to get that edge, perform at your peak, and feel great! I try to eat a clean, organic, whole food based diet to the best of my ability. I am not perfect though! Pizza has a deeply alluring call to my soul every so often!
I found the best breakfast for me as an athlete and I have eaten it SO religiously for about 6 years. Yes, you read that right! Even my boyfriend knows the exact measure and weight of every part of my breakfast himself…poor guy. For 6 years, this has been my go to:
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 banana
- 3 oz berries
- 15 g nuts
- 1 tsp Spirulina powder (a superfood algae)
- 2 egg whites
- 1 egg
- Spinach
BOOM! You now have a PERFECTLY designed protein: carb: fat: iron: magnesium: potassium: calcium: nutrient powerhouse, to not only fuel your workout AND recovery, but also tasted pretty ok and took me ONLYy 20 minutes in the morning to prepare.
So, when I heard of Oat Pro3, I was like “PAH! I ALREADY HAVE THE BEST BREAKFAST. I DONT NEED YOUR FANCY OATS!” But, something about it made me at least give it a try. See, I am open to any product, especially ones that are American-small-business-made and focused on whole clean foods to meet my nutritional needs. Well, let’s just say I didn’t know how ok I was with “settling” until I tried this product.
Here’s what I love about Oat Pro3…
TASTE
Oat Pro3 has the SAME nutrients as my previous breakfast, but TASTES much better. Like lick-the-bowl-clean good. And, when you read the ingredients and nutrition facts, it is astounding that this oatmeal tastes so good PLAIN, without added sugar or syrups. The ingredients: Organic Gluten-Free Oats, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Hemp Seeds, Organic Ceylon Cinnamon.
Need to Eat On the Go? No Problem!
Whether you’re traveling to a foreign country or just want a snack at work. It cut down my traditional breakfast prep time by 10 minutes. If I am running late, I either throw it quick in the microwave with some milk or water OR I always have some overnight oats made with Oat Pro3 in my fridge for such emergencies.
Travels Well
I know a lot of triathletes are similar to myself in that you DO NOT mess with my pre-race breakfast. You want to eat what you eat everyday pre-workou,t so your stomach doesn’t get compromised and you are confident you are properly fueled. I struggled with this when I traveled to races.
Spirulina powder goes bad – it doesn’t pack well dry. Same with fruit and what if you don’t have a microwave? Oat Pro3 SAVED me from this regular predicament I found myself in again and again. I just pack Oat Pro3 dry and either microwave it, run hot water into it from a coffee maker, or overnight oat it when I am at the hotel. All my macros and nutrients are met easy peasy in the process.
Up Your Recipe Game
There are so many recipes you can make with these oats. I have tried putting them in my protein balls, a breakfast shake, and home made granola bars. All were AMAZING. You can check out a lot more delicious recipes and suggestions at MyHealthEats.
Price is Right
At first glance, I thought that the price was a little steep for oats. But, then I thought about it. It is the same price as a month’s worth of clean protein powder. It was also the same price as my Spirulina powder or any supplement that I would add to my oats to achieve the same macro nutrient balance that Oat Pro3 already has built in.
To be honest, once I switched over, I realized I was saving money, because I stopped buying certain supplements that were now unnecessary in my diet since introducing Oat Pro3 to my daily routine. Also, keep in mind you can save money by using the code “Lindsay” for 10% off your Oat Pro3 purchase at MyHealthEats! Just enter the code during checkout.
Basically, I was impressed that Oat Pro3 completely changed my breakfast game. It is a vegan, gluten-free, and organic meal for any diet regime and activity level. Loaded with nutrient-dense superfoods, it is definitely something tasty and convenient I look forward to every morning!
Keep being young, wild, and free and go PR on the course and in life.
XO – LINDSAY

I eat a lot of oatmeal when training. I was curious about Oat Pro 3 as well, so I purchased the 12 serving-sized bag. Although quite good and convenient, the cost is astronomical. I made my own using the same all organic ingredients. It tasted almost exactly the same and cost 2/3 less. Don’t waste your money on this stuff. It can be easily replicated.
Hi Edward. Really appreciate your comments. I’m very guilty of buying and not making my own due to time contrasts and just ease. My partner, Dana, on the other hand, pretty much makes everything. Feel like sharing your recipe? We’re happy to share for you if interested. Thanks so much.
