This Instant Pot BBQ Ribs Recipe is a quick and delicious meal when time is tight. Add your favorite sides and dinner is served!
I am loving all things instant pot these days. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to get dinner on the table. It is especially helpful for the nights I get so busy on the farm that I literally forget about dinner and need something quick and delicious. This Instant Pot BBQ Ribs Recipe is a perfect example of why I am so happy.
But, honestly, I was not always so enamored. It took a long time to convince me to give the instant pot a try. I just truly did not believe it would make nutritious and delicious meals or really save me time. I also thought it was going to be really complicated.
Boy, I was so wrong. The instant pot is now one of my life savers in the kitchen. I got a handle on it right away. I now use it to make rice and yogurt and it is my best friend during canning season when I use it as a sterilizer.
Which instant pot is best?
There are many options when it comes to getting an instant pot. I have the Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1 and have been very happy with my choice. I’m always experimenting with new dishes. But I really love that I can use mine as a slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, yogurt maker and warmer. It does costs around $100 if that is a concern for you.
I encourage you to do your own research or talk to friends about their preferences before making a decision.
Why not just cook the ribs on the grill?
Well, two reasons. First, ribs cooked in the instant pot are just delicious and so easy. And second, there are days I just don’t want to fire up the grill, but really want to have ribs. This BBQ ribs recipe saves so much time. As a bonus, they are super tender!
What can I use instead of apple cider vinegar?
Honestly, if you do not have apple cider vinegar get some to keep in your house. It not only adds great flavor to your food, but it has many other uses. For example, it has medicinal antibacterial properties and can be used for cleaning and as a rinse on your hair.
But if you do not have apple cider vinegar, you can use any vinegar you have on hand. I prefer to use a champagne vinegar to a rice vinegar. But any red or white will work just fine.
How to peel the membrane off the ribs.
When you lay your rib racks flat, you will see one side has a layer of membrane. Simply slide a knife under the membrane and lightly lift it until it loosens and starts to tear away. Grab the membrane with a towel and if should all peel off in one piece.
Don’t forget some great side dishes to go with the ribs.
Ribs really conjure up barbecues, so think of what side dishes you would eat at your favorite barbecue. I suggest a light fresh salad, some potato salad or if in season, some corn on the cob. Other options are some warm macaroni and cheese and broccoli.

I am a home cook that does things my way. In my kitchen, I make breakfast, pack lunches, prepare snacks, and cook dinner. During the week, we eat real food that is homemade, organic, and local. On the weekends we do explore more of our local restaurants. I bake my own bread, juice fresh oranges every other day, and make my own kombucha and other weekly favorites.
